Brief Profile

Dr. Datson George P. after finishing his MCh Urology from Amrita Institute started his urology career in 2011 and is currently working as a Senior Consultant Urologist and Renal Transplant Surgeon. He Introduced RIRS (The latest in Laser Kidney Stone Surgery) in Kerala and has completed more than 1600 procedures, credited as a Pioneer in advanced RIRS procedures in the country. Dr. Datson has performed more than 3500 laparoscopic urology procedures and around 7000 endourological procedures. He is very active in the Cadaver and Live Renal Transplant Programme and has performed more than 270 Renal transplant surgeries and 400 Lap donor surgeries. He along with Dr George P Abraham had started 3D vision laparoscopy in Kerala and is one of the few urologists doing regular 3D laparoscopic surgeries. He is running a regular Laparoscopic Training and fellowship Programme and has been the invited faculty at several Workshops and conferences. He Has co-conducted 5 International Live operative urology workshop ”Lap Endofusion“ which showed all varieties of advanced laparoscopic cases and endourological cases with over 600 delegates participating from all over India. He has recently been Awarded “The Best consultant Urologist in Kochi” for his contribution in the field of urology.

• Dr. Datson has an excellent experience in laparoscopy and have performed various laparoscopic procedures like donor nephrectomies, radical and partial nephrectomies, simple nephrectomies, polycystic kidney pre-transplant nephrectomy, testicular vein ligation, ureterolithotomy, Pyeloplasty, pyelolithotomy, bladder injury repair, ureteric reimplantation etc. 
• Has individually performed more than 600 laparoscopic donor nephrectomies
• Has performed TVTO surgeries for female stress incontinence and cystocele/rectocele correction for bladder and rectal prolapse
